High Pressure Omega Block - Warm Clear Conditions
Low Pressure to the Outsides - Just the Opposite
Because of yesterdays conditions I predicted similar conditions to carry on from yesterday into today. As I mentioned, I expected a slight decrease in temperature. However, the decrease in temperature is almost not significant enough to even notice and temperatures are still fairly warm for this early in March. I expected clear sunny skies and very little wind today with respect to the high pressure omega block that has occurred prior to today. All in all, my predictions for consistent warm, calm, sunny conditions to carry on for today were accurate.

Like I previously mentioned conditions are very clear and calm. Not anything extremely exciting to report with exception of a bright and sunny day. The forecast is indicating a slight shift in wind direction, now coming from the north, although the winds themselves are not strong enough to even notice. In addition to the clear and calm conditions, the air is still significantly dry not making it possible for any chance in precipitation. All the current conditions are occurring because of the high pressure ridge that is still in effect today. Even though there isn't anything really exciting to report in terms of weather, I will not complain about the weather for today.

Colder Temperatures in Low Pressure Areas
....And Rain

Although temperatures have slightly dropped today, I expect the warming trend to continue for the next couple of days. Tomorrow will most likely maintain a similar pattern. High pressure will maintain clear skies sunny skies, and dry air preventing any chance of precipitation. In contrast to the north central region of the United States, both the east and west are experiencing low pressure causing much cooler and rainy conditions. Once again this is an effect of the omega high! Looks like Wisconsin is just one of the lucky ones experiencing this beautiful weather, and if you ask me we deserve after the torture we endured last winter.
