Weekend Up North!

This weekend was yet another weekend I have failed to report weather conditions. I had decided to travel up north, to Land O Lakes to my parents cabin for the weekend. Not only is there a lack a cell phone reception, but there is also no internet connection. Despite my inability to post daily, I am able to provide a small recap of the weather in northern Wisconsin, from this past weekend.

Friday was a another warm sunny day that was a slight continuation of the weather conditions from the previous week. As I left Eau Claire, there was little no cloud cover and temperatures were fairly warm with a high once again in the upper fifties. Similar conditions had seemed to last throughout my three hour drive north east, and surprisingly sunny skies prevailed the entirety of the way. The only noticeable difference in conditions was a slight increase in temperature as I made my way towards Wausau and then a small decrease as I continued north towards Land O Lakes. . There was substantially more snow, however there were signs of substantial melting. When I arrived the winds were noticeable but not significantly strong, and coming from the south. Later in the evening winds progressively increased in strength, causing some slight problems for the dads fires for burning brush.

Saturday morning started out with overcast gray skies and cooler temperatures than Friday. As the day progressed cloud cover decreased, however, only enough to expose the sun for a few minutes. There was no precipitation and winds continued from the south, but had died down some from the previous night.

Sunday was another cloud covered day, with thick gray overcast clouds. Temperatures remained in the mid fifties and winds maintained their southern wind direction. Even though the winds were coming from the same direction, they increased in strength once again. I then made my way back to Wausau to stay the night and noticed the strength of the wind pushing my car as I drove. Again there was no precipitation, and the only real difference from Saturday to Sunday was the change in wind strength.
